Died July 1, 2016 in Magalia, CA

Chuck’s family relocated to Seattle, Washington from Nebraska in the early 1940’s where he attended grammar school. From there they moved to Southern California and attended Glendale Union Academy for the seventh and eighth grades and then on to Van Nuys High School. After high school he worked with his father who was an electrical contractor.
In 1962 Chuck signed up for the Army. He did his training at Fort Ord, California and received the rank of Staff Sergeant. The 40th unit which he was a member of eventually became the Army National Guard. Chuck was honorably discharged in 1966.
After the Army National Guard he was employed by Pacific Telephone where he worked his way up from a line man to a manager. In 1986 Chuck retired from the company and he and his wife, Hilary, relocated to Magalia, California. He was a member of the American Legion – 2004-2016 and the Honor Guard. Chuck and Hilary joined Our Savior Lutheran Church in 1991. Chuck was very active when he became an Elder. He was also in charge of Braille Workshop where a group of members assembled Bibles for blind people which were sent all over the world. Chuck had two passionate hobbies. He was a collector of army war memorabilia and enjoyed driving his 1989 Corvette.
Chuck is survived by his wife; Hilary Fleischmann, three children; Chuck III, Linda and Kyle, also six grandchildren; Tyler, Cameron, Tom, Eric, Kendyll and Kadyn. He is preceded in death by his parents; Charles Wesley Fleischmann Sr. and Cleome Mabel Fleischmann and one sister; Sharon Lynn Hall.
A Memorial Service will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. A Reception will follow the Service at Luther Hall.
