Online Memorial Obituaries
Recently, we've expanded our website to include a section where friends and families who use our funeral services can pay tribute to their loved ones. Our online memorial obituaries provide a place to post sympathy notes--sharing memories, feelings, and sympathy. It may also give a brief summary of the loved one's past as well as where funeral services will take place or where you can make donations on their behalf. Video Tributes
Fondly remembering a loved one...their smile, energy, personality, and spirit...the memories that we cherish. A Video Tribute provides the family means to capture the essence of a family member in a beautifully produced and packaged video and DVD presentation that will be viewed at the funeral service and for years to come. You may bring in 35 photos of the family member in the order you choose, along with a musical selection that has special meaning, and an opening and closing quotation or scripture verse for the presentation. The Video Tribute will be available in time for the service and almost always within two working days.

Crematory On Premises
Keeping with the needs of the community, Newton-Bracewell Chico Funeral Home remodeled in 1993 to add a modern crematory, providing the only funeral home in Chico with an on-site crematory, mausoleum and columbarium.

Funeral Home
Newton-Bracewell Chico Funeral Home was originally founded as the CHICO FUNERAL HOME in 1955 by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mabrey. Today the funeral home is Chico's most elegant mortuary, surrounded in a rainbow of stained glass windows. The rich, warm colors of the newly renovated chapel interior offers a beautiful but conservative setting for both small and large services.

Mausoleum and Columbarium
In 1930 the Chico Memorial Mausoleum was erected to serve the needs of the community. Since then, new corridors have been added, creating Chico's only exclusive indoor mausoleum and columbarium. Upon entering the mausoleum, you are greeted with a sweeping wall mural of the Last Supper, and as you proceed past each corridor, there are beautiful stained glass windows, each with their own story.

The columbarium offers marble, bronze and glass face niches, and the mausoleum's exquisite Italian marble provides a beautiful, lasting memory for family members down through the ages. For those who prefer clean, dry, and permanent memorials, Chico Memorial Mausoleum is the area's finest. The choice for mausoleum burial is increasing, thus we have an exciting new expansion plan for the near future.

Bereavement Outreach Program
Because grief is a process and not an event, Newton-Bracewell Chico Funeral Home provides, at no cost, bereavement outreach services. An experienced representative visits family members at home following the funeral of a loved one, providing information regarding bereavement support groups and other helpful information.
